Frequently asked questions

What is the best way to wear perfume?

  • Fragrance should be applied to your pulse points, inside your wrists and elbows, behind the knees, on your neck, below the earlobes (not behind your ears).
  • If you are sensitive to fragrance, spray it on a handkerchief and place it in your pocket or purse.
  • Do not rub fragrance into your skin as this will “bruise” the fragrance. Spray fragrance on your skin and let it dry naturally without touching it.
  • Wear different fragrances for different occasions or moods. Wear one fragrance for the day and another for the evening.
  • Use fragrance in creative ways. Spray it on a letter before enclosing it in an envelope. Spray some on your sheets before you go to bed. Lightly spray it on a light bulb...but before you turn it on! Spray a candle before you light it!

What is the best way to take care of my perfume?

Avoid spraying fragrance on your body when spending time in the sun. If you are pregnant the fragrance may turn sour. Avoid spraying fragrance on your pearls, jewelry or synthetic materials. Be aware that spraying fragrance on your clothes may stain them lightly.

Keep fragrance in a cool dry place. Avoid sun exposure as the juice colour may change.

Do most people have several types of perfume?

Yes, it depends on their mood or situation. It is a good idea to have a selection. According to statistics, women have an average of five different fragrances. Most men own three.

How long will my perfume keep?

Keep your perfume away from extremes of light or heat. You can prolong the strength and vitality of your perfume by keeping it in a cool place, out of sunlight.

Are there any rules about when to wear particular kinds of perfume?

Generally, no. It depends on your mood and your personal preferences. But the lighter, fresher fragrances are usually best for day, while the exotic ones are great for evening.

What if I don’t like perfume when I first sample it?

Remember, there is a top, middle and dry down to all perfumes, and you have to experience all three before you can judge it. Some people are surprised to find they really like a perfume once they get to the dry down, even though they may have not liked the top note.

Why does the same perfume smell differently on me than it does on my friend?

One of the things that make perfumes so excitingly is that it adapts perfectly. Each person’s own scent, body chemistry and skin oils contribute to the overall effect of the perfume.
